1/23/09 – indianapolis, in

this past friday i was overjoyed to have some incredible talent in my house. if you know me at all, you know music is very high up on my passions list :o) i don’t play a single instrument, but i absolutely love all different types… and i especially love up and coming bands/musicians. so anyways, we put on this event to raise money and awareness for the pour house of indianapolis. this organizations is pretty awesome really. they not only strive to meet the needs of the homeless of the greater indianapolis area, but they also build relationships with them. true community. it’s beautiful really. please look into this organization and find out how you can help their cause.

the nothing-short-of-amazing talent that filled our house for the evening included, the incredibly talented brandon whyde, who was just on the cover of nuvo, AND actually sang at josh kelly and katherine heigl’s wedding! also chris piazza & tyler chance , dave campbell of lovely houses, and neil kjeldsen. please check them out and support indy’s impressive talent :o)

we’ll be hosting another music event at our house next month… of course you all are invited :o)

milo

my dog, milo… modeling it up for an upcoming project with wiley publishing.

he’s pretty cute when he’s not getting into the garbage or peeing on the carpet… :o)

micah & carter … part 2

i wanted to take a second to mention a few great foundations micah and carter decided to incorporate into their big day.

all the women in the bridal party wore beautiful handmade jewelry they purchased from an organization called servlife. check out the website… by purchasing this jewelry and other products you are helping provide viable economic alternatives for the oppressed, and for survivors of sexual exploitation, as well as helping to empower local indigenous communities.

instead of clinking champagne glasses to get a kiss out of these two, micah and carter had guests make a donation to autism speaks. once guests made their donation they got to ring a bell signaling a smooch. i thought it was a great idea :o)

here’s just a couple ideas to give a creative, selfless touch to your wedding day, all the while making a difference.
